brake line size

wouldnt you know it, I was pulling a loaded trailer and the rear brake line blew, right above the gas tank. I am going to abandon the line in place and install a new section (have to find my flaring tool) but when I looked lines up on the web there are multiple sizes any insight here is greatly appreciated. 1998 2500 4x4

3/16 on a 1500, not sure if its the same on a 2500 or not.
