Default bumper idea (need help)

A friend of mine had has his jeep over and its got a nice looking bumper on it and we got to talking about lack of stuff being made for my truck. So he grabs a tape measure and goes from the outside to outside frame rails of both vehicles and theres only a 3 to 4 inch difference in width.

Well now hes showing me how to modifly the brakets to make work if I wanted to try it. its basically cutting off the inside bracket and moving it to make fit right.

what do yall think about this? or if ya have a jeep and a truck like ours take a look at what we see and tell if its worth it or not.

sure, you could modify any bumper and make it fit. maybe find a suitable one to modify from junkyard or craigslist. just make/reweld brackets to fit your truck.

but is it cheaper or better than this?

Just build brackets that bolt to the framerails and to the bumper. That way you can moount the bumper and account for the space difference, while leaving the bumper exactly the way it was intended to be constructed.
