Infamous front end rattle...'94 2wd...
Hello, I'm new to the group and have been surfing the web for an answer to the infamous front end rattle in these dodge trucks. Seems to be a fairly common problem. Background: I bought a '94 dodge 1500, 2wd, 5.2 v8, for my son's first "new" car. The truck is in great shape inside and out with 126K miles. All is good with the truck except for a rattle coming from the passenger side front end. I can even sort of feel it with my feet when riding in the passenger seat. It happens a low speeds over small bumps and also at higher speeds as well. It has brand new shocks, I replaced all four ball joints thinking that would fix it. 3 of the ball joints were shot but still did not fix it. What else should I be looking for? I would think if it was the bearings I would have a rough or grinding sound besides the rattle. I'm sure I can fix it if I could diagnose it but that's where I'm struggling.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! My son is wanting me to fix it before he gets his license in a a few weeks and I don't want to just start replacing things and hopefully stumble across it. If there are certain things I can do to help diagnose it I'd appreciate those ideas as well.
Thanks!!!
