Remove drum (may have to back off shoes through slot at bottom from back side of assembly). Loosen brake line fitting, and remove the 2 screws that secure the cylinder.

I too would replace the WC. And as kejobe stated, be prepared for the line breaking off. Still way cheaper than buying a snap on tool for 120 that might break anyway. And download the 2001 service manual from the FAQ/DIY section.


And BTW, do NOT weld or use heat of any kind.

when you changed your drum brakes, how did the parking brake get attached ? only part I screwed up.

gonna do the other side tomorrow to "see it"

Thats exactly how you do it, one side at a time so you can look at the other side to see how ALL of the components go back together. They will be opposite but you'll still see how the parts install.
