no oil presser

Default no oil presser

will i had to take the head off my 99 ram 1500 5.9 i put it all back togerther i drove about 5 miles then no oil presser what can it be

My guess would be the oil pick up tube is clogged....its a tube connected to the oil pump....

BUT is it knocking? It may just be the sensor...try hooking a mechanical gauge to it

Posting a second post about the same problem while providing different information makes it really hard to help determine what is causing the problem. WHy did you have to pull the head? How did you torque to reinstall? New headgaskets? Which head? How do you know you don't have oil pressure?

if you dont have any oil pressure it would sound like a diesel, clickin and tappin from the lifters. if its still sounds good, and your oil level is good, id lean towards the oil pressure switch, its next to the dist. or you can just install a mech. gauge.

That's what I was hoping he would post. I suspect if he pulled left head off, the oil pressure switch could have easily have been damaged or connector knocked off. Other post mentioned spark plug.....
