Default stock shackle help.

Hey folks new to the forum. Got a 96 ram 1500 4x4 sport, the passenger side shackle rusted in half. Anyone know what shackles i need to change these out. Also tell me how to change them? Never messed with suspension. Thanks much

I just changed the ones on my wifes truck. I had to get them at the dealer. You should also get new bolts too when your there. The hard part is getting the old shackle off and the bolts out, but I do live in Pa so rust is a real problem here.

none of the auto parts stores around me even had a part listing for shackles for my 99.....weird since I bought shackles for my k1500 from Advance...I ordered mine on line ($25 a piece) since I wasn't in a hurry but dealership would probably be a faster option.

If you dont have access to a cutting torch or cut off wheel soak the nuts and bolts real good with penetrating fluid...I opt for Seafoam Deep Creep, and heat them up if you have a MAP torch, then hit them again with the penetrating fluid, should help them break loose.

on my truck the tow hitch was actually in the way of backing out the bolt going through the shackle into the hanger, my angle grinder and cuttoff wheel made quick work of that bolt though...then replaced the bolt with a slighty shorter 9/16" grade 8 bolt.

I am in the middle of doing the rear suspension right now. I ordered new shackles from fat bob's garage.
