2001 Ram problems shifting out of 4X4

2001 Ram problems shifting out of 4X4
When shifting from 4H to 2H it takes a long time to disengage from 4H. When it does there is a loud "clunk". 4X4 light stays on until if finally does disengage from 4H. Can anyone help me??? Thank you!
