33x12.5x17 no lift no gear swap
Ok now that I got that out of the way.. OP go with a 4.10 setup.... Go ahead and get a good Posi of your choice. Yukon or detroit is a good selection.. If you havent done gears before find yourself a good 4x4 shop to do it.. Just remember if you are a 4x4 to match the front gears. You wont regret going 4.10's
I know there were times with my TJ on 33s I got better highway MPG and having the 5speed I didn't notice a ton of performance loss...BUT when I drove it in a way to get up to highway speed in a respectable time you better belive those MPGs suffered,
Exactly...its kind of comparing apples to oranges...in theory taller tires can lead to better gas mileage for highway driving, but then increased wind resistance from taller ride height comes into play, and factors like driving style and the rolling resistance of the tires are also a factor. So circumstances have to be ideal.

my piont exactly but i am running 33s on my ram with 3.55s and i tow a car hauller with a 94 half tonn on it every other weekend and i notice a small loss nothing significant
Jeeps! Why are we comparing Jeeps to 2nd gen trucks?
I tow a lot with my truck and its set up to do it right. You put a trailer behind these trucks and mpg will drop quick. I get 16mpg at 55mph in the mountains, put a trailer behind it over 3000lbs and it drops to 8mpg. Put a trailer behind anything and mpg drops, no way around it.

So........., just to make sure I get the right stuff I want, what should I look at to confirm everything will fit/work together? And if I want 4.10s what do I need to do to make that work. I personally feel better just getting new front and rear ends, but im also unaware of the work and pricing involved in this.
For the rear diff you need a gear set, for the front you need thick cut gears or a new gear carrier and gears. Gears cost about $300 per set, a new carrier for the front can be from $150 and up. Install if done at a shop will be around $300-$400 per diff. This does not included bearing replacement cost.
If you nave never done gear changes then a axle swap is the ezest and might be cheaper in the long run, but try to find a set of diff's with 4.10 or 4.56 could take some digging around.

rockwells ftw
I'd just go with 4.10s and trutracs front and rear for 33s if you have the cash.
I'm gonna go with 4.10s, a trutrac in the rear, and 33s eventually. I cant wait to get my torque back haha
...Unless I get this new job. Then I am saving some more money and going with trutracs front and rear, 4.56s, 35s, and a 5" skyjacker lift.
