Default Problems after re-main kit rebuild

I have a 95 ram 1500 with the 5.9 360. I recently spent the a week straight rebuilding the engine sue to collapsed oil control rings. I did everything right and also replaced the oil pump and pressure sending unit. And pick up tube. I was setting the timing, which has proven to be very difficult as a cant seem to get the distributor turned far enough due to the cap screw hitting the intake, when out of nowhere i lost all oil pressure at idle. It does the typical dodge thong and builds pressure when revving it but even on a mechanical gauge i still have no pressure once it reaches temp. The oil pump functions properly and was primed before installation, and the pressure sending unit is not really an issue as i will be completely installing the mechanical gauge as soon as the problem is solved. But i am completely lost as to why i still have no pressure at idle after i reach operating temperature. It currently has 10w30 in it. I was debating on dumping it and using straight 30 to see if that would correct the issue. All my bearing clearances are within specification so i do not believe that is my issue. Does anyone have any ideas on what i am possibly not seeing?

You don't set timing by turning distributo on these. That sets fuel synch. Also, if oil pressure is low, I would suspect main and rod bearing clearances.

That explains why it stalls out when i turn the number one plug past cylinder eight. The rods and mains are within spec for clearance.

After you get your oil pressure issues figured out, you are going to need to take it to a shop to get the fuel sync set properly with the right scanner.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but what kind of oil pump was it?

I bought it at my local carquest auto parts store. I have been going to them for years and they have always hrlped me out. I was thinking cam bearings my self but when i had everything out i had them looked at by a good friend of mine at ocean state performance my local speed shop and he said they looked exceptional for 210k miles so i left them alone. Luckily i can set the fuel synch myself at work sine we have the right scanners.
