Default Clunkin in reverse

Just wondering whats up this time. For awhile when the truck is cold and I put it in reverse then give it just abit too much gas it makes a shutterin movement that feels like the tires are spinning real hard. I pray it aint a transmission problem but if it is it is not that bad. Once the truck warms up, you can put it in reverse and floor it and it would be fine. Ya'll holler at me and tell me abit bout whats up. Thanks guys.

Well delete the check valve as starters but this is usual with 2nd gens the fluid bleeds off over night so when you go to reverse there's no fluid that's why it's reccomended to let the truck sit in neutral for like 30 seconds before backing up

Yeah I don't remember exactly why it does it but i read a thread awhile back and it said why but basically yeah it bleeds off over night and my tranny did the exact same thing as yours I do know fluid isn't flowing unless in neutral which is why jumping straight to reverse its doing that just let it sit in neutral for a little bit to get the pressure up and you should be fine

IF your anti-drainback check valve has been removed, then it's plausible that it's converter drainback that's at fault. If so, the best fix is to plumb in a remote filter where the anti-drainback valve used to be, as it gets you not only a remote filter (which is reason enough to do it) but also the anti-drainback check valve that is inside the filter. Unlike the factory original valve, the one in the filter is easily replaced and you get a new one every time you change the filter.

Something else to look into would be the band adjustment. I'd think it likely that it needs to be performed since you've been slipping the rear band in Reverse.

Thanks unregistered. and Its rare to floor it in reverse. I granny around half the time. Only time I can really remember flooring it reverse is when stuck in a mudhole a month or so back.
