Can anybody help? I was looking to tune up my ram, but when I saw where the distributer is located, I am now thinking of just going ahead and putting a whole new ignition system in.

Has anybody done this, or have any suggestions for igntion systems?

 

Can't go wrong with brand name MSD... but make sure it's an OEM output replacement otherwise you'll run into other issues with ignition timing.

 

98 Ram with a ford 351? Assuming it's a 5.9/360, cheapo parts will work fine, but not last very long. But as mentioned, if you want the best, MSD is the way to go. Also, the 94-01 Rams are covered in the 2nd gen section.
