Default ,97 Ram V-10,cat removal?air pump?

What to do with the pipe leading from converters to pump,can it be eliminated,what to do with it?

You can unbolt the pipe and pull it out. You may have to cut it at some point, as it's kind of a pain to get out.

As far as the air pump, you can take it apart and knock all the fins and guts out of it (you'll see what you need to remove when you open it up)....then put it back together and re-install it. The pulley will still turn, but it won't blow air.
