Default Code 0455

My CEL came on and this code 0455: EVAP leak monitor large leak detected. Anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

im having the same trouble intermitten for awhile now, theres a lot of info on here about it. could be gas cap, leaking hose, leak detection pump or the canister.

im going to go double check all my hoses today, I did replace my gas cap with one from autozone but im not too confident with it.

I had the same code come up once and they said it was a gas cap that was loose. Mine was on good but the code was still there. My cousin went and flashed that code but now it came up again. Thanks for the link btw!

Only experience I have had on this was step-son's Taurus. Had to replace all the hoses to and from the canister and at engine on EVAP system. Hoses were deteriorated. No problem since then. Gas cap will do it as well if it is not sealing.

Do not use regular hoses such as heater hose. Make sure it is rated for gasoline or it will get porous and fumes will seep through.
