After years of dealing with the seat being hard to slide front and back, the wire finally broke. It's a manual seat, not powered. I looked under and there is a wire that tightens when you pull up on the handle that moves the clips out of the track. Can I just get my own wire and rewire it or do I need to buy the same kind with the springs at each end?

 

I would say pull a MacGyver and try to fix is yourself.
