Default Tranny swap issues- wrong year

I have a 97 ram 4x4 with a 5.9. I bought it as a project. The previous owner started to replace the trans. I am in the process of finishing it.
I went to plug in the wires for the tranny and the sensor plugs are different. Also I noticed there is another sensor in the tail end of the old trans but not the new one
The new trans bellhousing says 064-5. The original says 064-8.
I think the replacement trans is from a different year Ram
So does anybody know if I could do anything to make this tranny work or am I screwed?

Looks like the tranny is a little longer than the old one. But the transfer case bolted right to it

As long as they are both 46re's then you should be able to make it work. But if the new one is a 46rh then you will be screwed.

+1... Sounds like u got an RH instead of an RE. Even the wrong year RE will still have the same connector and plug right in. You just wouldn't have OD.
