Default coil spring upgrade

hi there..i have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4 reg cab short box..i was wondering what coil springs from what year diesel ram to put in the front to make it sit even.. if anyone has any suggestiions on part numbers brands etc..that would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Coils from a 2500 will give you about 2" higher. Might be cheaper to get a leveling kit, rather than new springs.

I think with the 2nd gen diesel springs people are actually seeing 3" of lift, while the v8 2500 springs are more in the 2" area.

so i should get the 2500 reg cab springs...or the ext cab springs..also the diesel springs or the 5.9 gas springs from the 2500....thanks

Is there any advantage of a coil spring upgrade vs a level kit? Is the ride much rougher? I am also thinking about doing this.
