got a 46RE , lookin for a deep tranny pan

Default got a 46RE , lookin for a deep tranny pan

did a search but couldnt get a def. answer. got a 46RE in the dodge and wannna install a deep pan but when i do a search there isnt really alot a choices specifically for a 46RE... will a pan made for a 518 tranny fit? looks like it but i wanna make sure before i spend a few hun!!!!!! thanks

A-518 Deep Cast Pan

The 518 is the same as the 46RE. A 727 pan would also work.

No the 727 pan is not the same. You have to use the deep cast pan. p/n P5007740AB from mopar. Or use the TCI 128005 pan. This will add 2 extra qts. Approx 8.5 qts to refill. Now if you need a deeper pan theres the TCI 128015 deep cast pan. It holds 4 extra qts. I've got all three pans. Depending on the year of your truck, you need to look at the ATF type. Earlier or 90's models use ATF+3. Later models use ATF+4. DO NOT MIX!! and don't skimp because of the price. ATF+4 comes from Mopar. ATF+3 comes from Mopar or Valvoline ATF+3.

Actually...a 727 pan WILL work. But there's no need...since there is a pan there for your transmission.
