NEW EXHAUST!!!!! long story but check the pics!!
Ok. started out, orderd the 250$ dual exhaust kit for "my" truck that didnt require any "cutting" or "welding" well it came in the mail.. first step on the instructions? "cut your OEM exhaust off" ok.. no biggy.. then down the page see the words "cut here" "weld this" starting to get mad!!!!!! and then the tail pipes that are pre bent "exactly" to fit over the axle and around the spare.... RIGHT!!!!!!!!! in my dreams... instructions said basic mechanics tools and 2 hours...mind you.. i live in the barracks and do most of my work in the parking lot so im VERY limited.. the "hobby shop" is great but the hours suck and doesnt work out for all the Marines... I needed to rent a pipe cutter and flarer (presonally i dont consider them "basic" mechanics toos) and 5 hours later and 3 buddys 3 packs of marb lights and a case of budlight... i came up with this here... after fussin with the pipes that didnt fit and getting really fustrated and ran out of daylight.... decided to temporarely rig up some dumps.... dont get me wrong at all.... i love the look of the 2 pipes stickin out the *** end... but on EVERY truck.... gets old..well you cant see my exhaust...but hell you can hear it... SOUNDS GREAT!!! and with the dumps hitting the pavement you can hear of ALL over the place...sounds like its coming FROM the truck not the rear of the truck... ill give it a few days or weeks and ill see if i want to change it back to what is "saposed" to be "do it yourself" system.... just one question... with out the long bent pipes sticken out the rear ... you fellas think theres enough back pressure for the motor. i wish i would planned it out better and just got a small extension pipe and muff and saved some money... ohwell... oh... Flowmaster 40 series. lemme know what you guys think!!!

I'm running no muffler at all coming out in about the same place yours is. I may be hurting on a little back pressure, but it sounds great. I was considering turning it out and exiting it right in front of the rear passenger side tire, but it sounds so good exiting under the truck that I don't know if I want to. The only thing that I would change about yours is having the turn downs expanded to go OVER the muffler outlets rather than inside of them.

Looks pretty good. I can tell you your going to get more noise in your cab. With the sound coming out right under the truck its going to bounce off the ground and your cab noise will increase. Plus you might get some exhaust in your cab when the wind blows the wrong way. I have the 40 series and I agree it sounds great. If the sound gets too loud save up some money and run it out the back. Ive been in the Airforce for 10 years and I can relate to doing the repairs out in front of the dorm. Only good thing about it was all your buddys see you out working on the car and they come to help - screw up more stuff - or drink all your beer.
Good luck

cat is still there...if i can find a magna flow HF cat that has 1 inlet 1 outlet im gonna swap my stock one out... the noise is kinda loud in the truck and im always listening b/c it sounds like a got leaks ALL over the place only when im driving but when im idle parked its clean so i think its just the sounds bouncing off the road and back into the cab... no problems with exhaust IN the cab...i can just hear it VERY well... kinda like it though..and if dont wanna hear it ill just crank up my stereo.. (and thats even louder) funny you say doing work in the barracks parking lot... b/c when i do work they all come to me and ask me do to stuff to there car or truck..mainly audio..i intall stereos so im ALWAYS putting in A/V in cars for my fellow Marines at a fraction of the regular installl prices around town... and then i do other stuff too... but they ALWAYS drink my beer.... !!!!!!!!
