Default 1996 2500 4x4/ transfer case question

Ok, so I got a 96 2500 v10 with a 241 dld transfer case. My case halves split due to bad u joints. I found a 241 dld that's off if a 1995 ram 2500. If I put all my internal parts in the '95 casing halves, will anything bad happen? I don't know about any mid year changes to the 241 dld, and don't want to ruin my truck. Thanks guys

The case will bolt in as is, as long as they have the same input shaft spline count. If not, swap your input into it.

Just went through all that with my '95. U-joint vibe induced failure and all. Have fun with the repair!

Then sure, just swap case halves over the internals, but make sure to inspect them all for good condition after the failure.

I'm just worried they made a change internal parts. Everything inside is good, I looked at it when I took it apart.

Any idea where I can get a front driveshaft for a fair price?
