Default Vavle bodies, 2nd & 3rd and 4th generation

I have been trying to understand if a later model valve body can be used on a earlier 2nd & 3rd gen, 2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4.
I recently purchased a 2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with many unresolved issues.
One of these issues concerns the instalation of a later model valve body.
In order for me to get this later valve body to work, i had to remove and install the correct detent lever, due to no reverse lights. i also had changed to a later design transmission wiring harness, so as to use the later model TFT sensor.
Which brings me back to my origanal question..
On the later model (TFT) sensor, according to information in a (ATSG) tec manual, page 29, the 4th design has a different set of values, from the 1st 2nd & 3rd Design.
Will my original PCM (power control module) be able to interpet these values?
Is there a way to ID the Valve Body?
Thanking you in advance for any help...
Robertram
