Default NEED BRAKE HELP!!!!!

guys, i need some major help. I was driving down my street when some little kid ran out infront of me. I slammed on the brakes. ( dont worry, i didnt even come close to hitting him.) then I got down the street and hit the brakes again and the damn pedal when right to the floor! so I carefully turned around and went home. as soon as I get out. I see brake fluid leaking from under the truck behind the gas tank. do you think the hard like broke? Im going to have to drop the gas tank I guess. This totally sucks. and i had an appointment to get it inspected tomorrow.[:@][:@][:@]

The only reason you would have fluid leaking is a ruptured line... MIght have had chaffing and the massive psi you made when you hit the brakes slit the hose. I think the line would pop before the seal around the piston in the caliper. Not alot to the braking system in that area...

Go find the kid and send the parents the bill..

OK, I pulled the gas tank out the other night while I was taking apart the transfer case. ( Figured I would do everything in the same weekend.) The lines actually rusted though and i guess the pressure just broke them.

Buy a tube cutting tool and flare tool. You can buy hard line with fittings in generic lengths and cut it to the size you need.

That is a really good question, but I can't seem to remember off the top of my head. Hopefully where ever your getting the line from can tell you.
