Default Antifreeze smell but not overheating

I come, yet again, asking for the expert advice of yall. Here lately, after the truck has been running and I stop and idle, the smell of antifreeze is pretty strong. I can only smell it around the fender well area. It isn't over heating, in fact it runs pretty cool. If there is a water leak, it isnt very big because the coolant level doesnt drop any. I have no clue as to what it can be. Any ideas?

Pressurize your coolant system. That'll tell you whether or not you have a leak. Also make sure to test the cap. When you pressurize the system make sure the radiator is full.

Default Hose

If you have looked at the heater hoses, radiator hoses for leaks and found none then I would suspect the hose that runs from the intake to the water pump especially if it is still the stock one. A small leak there is hard to see and because of the location and the heat involved it may be burning off causing the smell and the lack of a puddle. Your coolant level will not drop at a fast level.

Check the timing chain cover, I had the same problem. Very small leak, noticed it after flushing my coolant system in the fall.

I had a similar issue. Ended up replacing the water pump, timing chain cover, thermostat, bypass hose.
All were leaking and burning off. There was a lot of corrosion where the leaks were, but no drips or visible leaks. The radiator level didn't drop either. I actually thought my heater core was hosed because the smell miigrated into the cab also.
You might also look at your freeze plugs.

I had to replace the radiator cap. Got a O'Reillys cap. Went bad shortly thereafter. Had to get a NAPA cap and no antifreeze smell since. But check the weep hole on the water pump.

Mine was a small leak at the water pump, once replaced, the smell went away.
