I have to agree, the ones who insist on running straight pipes on their trucks around here sound like a v8 version of a fart can on a ricer. Not the least bit pleasing to the ear. It does turns head though....but for the wrong reasons.

I think if you wanted loud and good sounding exhaust cut out the stock cat, run true duals with super 44s or remove the cat, put in a new y pipe run a single super 44 and single or dual it out the rear. IMO

+1

I very recently dumped my stock cat and went with an O/R Y pipe with a super 44. It is LOUD, but retains a low, mean tone even when you stand on it. Zero drone at highway speeds, too. I wouldn't go straight piped; it'd just sound like ****.

i don't understand why people want there vehicles so loud and annoying? notice those types of vehicles get pulled over often? i know i like the sound of a v8 with no exhaust but for daily driving the quieter the better for me. also having a quiet vehicle give you the ability to hear if something is wrong with it before things go catastrophically wrong like blowing up a transfer case while doing highway speeds.

Hey now, no need for personal attacks here

I agree with adobedude on the topic. If its loud, it'd better be fast. And loud is not the same thing as good sound.

It's a Dakota, but still a Magnum V8. It's pretty quiet until you hit the loud pedal. Dual 3.5" exhaust, with straight through 3.5" Dynomax mufflers.

It can walk the walk...This a mid 11 second pass.

that wasn't a personal attack. if i was going to get personal i might have said something like, "having a quiet vehicle give you the ability to hear if something is wrong with it before things go catastrophically wrong like blowing up your trans because your running low on transmission fluid"
