Question 2001 2500 Ram & 2001 Durango swap

So I think I got lucky & found a 2001 3/4 Ram w/a 5.9 (360), in decent shape for only $1500. All it needs is a transmission. I also have 1st dibs on a 5.9 engine w/ tranny & transfer case out of a 2001 Durango. I will also be getting the computer, wire harness, & torque controller out of the Durango as well for the $400, of course I am helping to pull it. While the Durango has 180K on it & the Ram only 114K, I suspect the Durango's engine was taken care of & is in better shape than the Ram's. Both trannys should be 4x4 46RE models and both are the same year magnum 360 engine.
My question as I am sure you can guess, can I just install the engine & tranny combo out of the Durango & bolt them in the Ram?

Also, I am thinking of getting some Summit shorty headers if I can swing it because I gotta believe they are easier to install outside of the truck. Maybe replace the plenum, wires, plugs, etc. as well IDK.
My second question, are there any other mods I will need to make like re-positioning sensors or should make during the swap?

Thanks all, Sean

Engine and trans should be the same but the t cases will be different. I would change the plenum, cap, wires etc while it's out. There'll never be a better time. On second thought I'm wanting to say the starters are on opposite sides. Ill have to look into that.

97tn4x4, thanks for the tips. The info on the starter may be helpful too. I was curious if I would really need swap out the computer & wire harness I am at a loss for a reason I would need to. If I do & someone could explain why, I'd appreciate the insight. Given I am getting it anyway, I always can swap the computer but if I don't have to, is there a demand for them? Maybe I can get some of my money back. Maybe sell the transfer case too?

Zman, where are ya man? You are usually one of the first to set me straight whenever I post. lol

The harness and computer "should be the same" I just can't recall if it's the jeeps or durango's that have the starter on the opposite side or if it's both. Assuming the t case is in good shape you could prolly get most of your money back.
