150 vs 2500 Torq Converters

Default 150 vs 2500 Torq Converters

I just picked up a used transmission froma junk yard they told me it drove in lol it came out of a 96 1500 4x4 5.9 and going in 96 2500 4x4 5.9 46re my questions is are the torq converters the same in both vehicles? Also and tips on things to look at before I install it to make sure it isnt f**** take pan off etc? SHould I also change the transmission seal behind the torq converter looks a little wet on the new used one any one have that part number?

Auto 2500 should have the same torque converter as the auto 1500's.

And it would be wise to drop the pan and inspect the fluid and check for debris on the magnet. Some stuff on the magnet is normal, loads of metal isn't.

If you think the seal is leaking it would probably be wise to replace it, but I'm not sure if it's that simple or what all is involved... My transmission experience is limited to dropping the pan and a rear band adjustment.
