Well, kind of hoping it was close to here....

Post the photos and we can identify what you have and how to resolve.

Well I went through and electrically tested everything and couldn't find any reason the pcm wouldn't engage the LU or OD. So I got over it and built an electronic controller to take over the LU and OD for the PCM. I taped into the 5V supply, TPS, VSS, trans temp, LU solenoid, OD solenoid, and OD switch at the PCM, and used a microcontroller to control the overdrive and look up solenoids. Wrote some code to only switch the overdrive on above 45 mph and than engage the LU 15 seconds later. It will cut LU out if you press the throttle more than 1/3 of the way. Over drive switch and dash light work just like always and turns off/on the overdrive controller I've built. I'll probably try and play with the sequence to achieve the best performance and fuel economy. Also I may have it toggle the overdrive off when I start the truck so i have to turn OD on. I've taken it for a test drive and just have the wires ran crazy but I'll clean it up and attach some photos of it next. From the end prospective works just like stock and cost me about ~$30. Good enough for me!

If PCM is not engaging, then some of the logic is not true. There may be a reason for this, so if you just bypass it, you may cause something to fail.
