I'm pushing 160k, engine runs fine, needs some gaskets and valve stem seals, but runs well.

I just bought it this morning. Took it for a test drive and it did fine. A little bit of a shake when I got it up to about 65 mph but other than that it's alright. Talked him down to $2200 took it to autozone because the chef engine light was on and they said it was the o2 main 1 sensor. Nothing majorly. Thanks guys for all of your advice.

Shaking could be alignment, steering parts worn, ball joints, balance. Maybe several hundred dollars.

Also, replace O2 sensor with a Denso brand. About $90 I think. Check Rockauto.com and used the discount code found here on DF.

Well wheel bearings went out when I was driving down the interstate. So had to buy to cotter pins and lugs and hopefully buy a wheel bearing housing tomorrow. That's what the shake was.

Ouch. That sucks.

My wheel bearing/hub assembly on the passenger front is on it's way out. It goes to the shop tomorrow

I'm going to go get the assembly tomorrow. Costing me $98 for the assembly since it's the 2 wheel drive anti lock brakes and not the 4 wheel drive so it's cheaper. But it completely sheared the cotter pin in half. I bout a pack of those and new lug nuts today. So hopefully I can get the assembly on tomorrow easily and correctly and hopefully I will be okay after that. By the way is it simple to put the assembly on? Wish me luck.

I've got no idea what all is involved with the hub assembly, mine is going to the shop for it.

Front wheel bearings on the 2wd are less expensive because you don't need to buy whole hub assembly. Once you get the rotor off, use a small punch to knock the old races out, one inner one outer. Then use one of the old races to gently tap the new races back into hub. you wanna make sure you get grease packed into new bearings real well. Put big gob in palm and push it in. Last time I checked one auto parts store said they had a one piece bearing assembly for the front 2wd. There is Youtube video of a guy replacing front wheel bearings on a chevy 2wd, step by step, same deal. Had it bookmarked but got a new computer, but should be easy to find.
