Default 95 dodge ram and older Ford axle shafts

I am wondering if its true and possible to put a 70s ford axle shaft in my 95 dodge ram to eliminate the 4wd accuator??

A lot more is involved than just swapping in the axle shaft.

If the actuator is your only reasoning for the swap, look into a posi-lok.

thanks merc225. I also like the idea of using a bolt to hold the shift fork mentioned in my last thread. but my worry is that its going to wear out the fork with the collar constantly pushing back on it. I think the same would happen with the posi lock system
