anyone ever opened up there transfer case to replace the chain? I have to do it, i dont know if thats exactly it but im going to find out. Im also going to do a whole write up on it with pic if anyone wants to see how its done.

Not on my Ram, but I have on 5 Jeeps to date. (NP 231 and NP 242) They're not as intimidating as they look. You can leave the T-Case in the truck, and just pull the rear half off. I can walk you through the steps if you like.

yea, I think im going to open her up today. is there anyway to tighten the chain or do i just have to get a new one?

yea and if you could that would be great. I got some info on it but its always nice to talk to someone who's done it before

Ok, I pulled it apart today and i found a piece of a plastic ring laying on the bottom. (Its clear) anyone know what it is. I think the chain has way to much play in it. what do you guys think. [sm=confused06.gif]

I can email you the picture, thats about it. I kinda "stole" that picure so I can't just link the page. Its off a of a site that you need a suscription to and its ungodly expensive, lucky for me I know a company's login and p-word You can't right click on the pictures or anything, so I actually had to take 2 screenshots and put them together to make that picture. Give me your email and I'll send it to you, its a bit bigger and easier to read.

Thanks, my email is tani1500@aol.com Now guess what. I had someoone tell me that the chain looks alright. does anyone think it could be the cad system. Im going to open that up today and make sure its working right. any help?
