Default Possible New Ram Owner

Was looking at purchasing a second gen Ram, really dont know anything about them other than they look sick Was curious how they run whith 75+ miles on them. They start to hit problems around this time or just the usual basic upkeep. Do they make it to around 150,000 + mile range and beyond or do they thend to **** the bed?

I've seen them w/200+, not sure of the dependability of them. My 97 has 92K on the clock with minimal problems...NO TRANNY PROBLEMS!

My 97 1500 4x4 318 has over 243,000 miles originaly tranny and original engine with minimal problems. I have had the truck since I was 16 (and you know how 16 year olds drive) I have had it in hell and high water and the only time she has left me stranded was in a parking lot and that was because of a bad fuel pump. That should tell you quite a bit about how long dodges will last with good upkeep.

Damn I didn't know they lasted that long. My 98 has 135k on it with one tranny rebuild, and basic maintenance.

97 80k I have replaced a waterpump and a T-Stat. clogged cat. no trani problems. I tow a 3100lb boat at least 2 times a week during the months of March-September. and all is good. It gets its oil changed at 3k without fail. I bought it with 45k on it 4 years ago.

One of the biggest things on these is a cloged cat. I had one come in once and nobody could figure out what was wrong with it. It seems that checking for a cloged exhaust system is something many people overlook [&:]
