Default Difficulty starting

Okay I have a '96 ram 1500, and lately when I go to start my truck several things might happen. It wont start, not making any noise, etc, but when I put it in neutral it starts right up. Also sometimes when I start it, it will start but it takes a second for it to get going, like it wont fully revv up, but after a second the rpms finally jump up. Not sure what is wrong or if this is all related. Any ideas or suggestions?

Try cleaning the IAC first and go from there. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html

And please disconnect the negative battery cable before doing so.
