Default 46 rfe transmission help!

I have a 97 dodge ram 1500 extended cab automatic 4x4 360 engine. I emailed the vin and it says it has a 46 rfe trany. What other vehicles have this same trany to fit my truck? Thanks for any help!

I think '96 was a mixed year, some had 46RE and others had 46RH, or so I think.

1997-2001 is 46RE. But I think the connectors changed along the way a bit for overdrive... Easy to correct though...

If they have a 46RE it would probably work, drive shaft length could be another issue...

I suggest you find a 46RE out of a ram. Once you do that, we can deal with what year it came out of. Of course, I really suggest you have the current one that's in the truck rebuilt.
