Quick ABS answer needed.
hey guys, I have been trying to find a answer for days w/out posting but I have not ran across what im looking for..
I just bought my second Ram, it is a 99 sport 4x4, 5.9L. I got my build sheet from dodge on the 99 and it says "Pwr disc/drum Rr anti-lock brakes"... so I would guess rear wheel ABS only..
I need to change the axle u-joints really bad and gonna do the front hubs as well since im right there. well I was looking and I have connectors in the engine bay for front ABS, but the hubs on the truck do not have ABS connections. so I am a little confused on why I have ABS harnesses under the hood and which hubs I actually need to buy.
I need to order them tonight so im hoping I can get some clarification on this situation. sorry im kinda new to dodge, not sure if the harnesses are in the engine bay as a added convenience in case someone wanted to swap to 4 wheel ABS or if the previous owner just bought the wrong hubs or maybe my build sheet was wrong..
idk. anyway thanks in advance, like I said I have been holding off on posting but I gotta get some hubs on the truck hopefully before the weekend is over.

My 2 cents, vehicle manufacturers run the wiring for all options, but only install the hardware to make them work if ordered that way. If your existing hubs do not have the ABS connectors, I would get the same thing to replace them with.
that's what I thought too. just wanted some advice from others that know more about dodge than I. ordering 2 non-abs hubs tonight then. I knew I shoulda just did that 2 days ago when I was trying to track a answer down
thanks for the quick reply.
