Default 1997 Dodge 1500 4x4 5 Speed manual low engine speed hesitation

I have a 1997 dodge 1500 with 318, 5.2 litre. I have had the cat replaced and just last week had a shop that, I have always used put new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Still on a up hill climb, it really feels like little fish bites to describe how it runs. It's not consuming oil, but it is really rough on gas. I have always had a dodge and have had several of these trucks. This particular vehicle has only 152,000 miles on it and it runs great when you get on the gas with a full throttle but, at low speeds and in the slightest pull it feels like it misses. I usually do my own work. I just don't have time anymore. I also, don't want to spend a excessive amount of money by the process of elimination. If there is anyone out there that may have some suggestions, I would greatly appreciate some feed back. I have mentioned above that, I have owned several of these trucks and I have replaced the timing chain in a couple of them, but not this one, because in the others that I have owned I could hear the chain making a noise, but not this one. Anyway any help will be appreciated. thanks.
