Can I ground it somewhere else or does it have to be connected to the head?

Check connectors on PCM. Make sure they are clean and tight. After that, may have to pull CPS back out and take a look at it.

What brand CPS did you get? Redneck I believe got a bad one out of the box.

i did! it was a bwd from advance. our trucks are finicky as far as major sensors go.

delphi, standard motors products, or oem(dealer) for crank sensors.

Got sidetracked doing taxes over the weekend, and work is crazy this week. Got "emergency" call form Governor's office late Friday and thought I was going to be traveling this week. But all is good now. Hopefully I can do the box thing tomorrow! Sorry,,,,,

They won't take the part back, so what I'll do is exchange it for the warranty, then return it to get my money back and go over to napa.
Anyone have the part number of the one from napa that works?
