Need some stock 96 Dodge Ram 2wd 1500 suspension Pics
Hello
Im a new member to this forum, usally spend my time on the 73-87 chevy truck forum,
Long story short
Im hoping someone might have or be able to take a picture of a Stock Front Suspension 2wd, I have a (1996 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd)
I brought my moms truck to school to get the front suspension rebuilt and lets just say it hasnt been fun,(my classes are only tuesdays and thursdays only 2:30 long)
the first we torn all the suspension parts off
the second day we were pressing all the new ball joints, and control arm bushing in when we find out, autozone had given me 5 upper control arm bushings, and 3 lower, so we had to stop
the third day we get everything pressed in, my brakes teacher wanted to cut the rotors before we installed new pads, we find out the rotors are warped and they didnt give me the wheel bearing seals, so went an got them so i can work on it in my suspension class, we got all the control arms, springs, spindles, everything put on, but had to stop
All we got left is the sway bar, and front linkage
heres my questions______
Anybody know what the control arm and any other part up front is suppose to be torqued to?
Any body got pics of their front suspension so i can make sure everything is right?
I forget what its called but how do you press in the idler/pitman on, I know it has those splines, i took me like 40 minutes to find a socket that would fit the nut(think it was a 34 or 35mm), we impacted it on and it went maybe halfway, of where the old one was at(you can tell where the old one was at because it was cleaner then the rest
How do i know how much to turn the tie rod ends, to me it looks like maybe one side is gonna be more in then the other?
Sorry for this long post really want this truck out of this school, its been here for going on 3 weeks
Thanks Frog210
