Default cab swap or engine/drive shaft

I have a 98 club cab in good condition and a 97 club cab in terrible condition. I was thinking of combining the two however I was curious as to the communities thoughts on how to go about it. first a little info about the trucks. The 98 has no motor, no axles, no suspension, it does have a transmission and electrical and a non peeling/fading paint job. 97 runs but has major transmission issues, also it has the crud white paint job so it's fading, rattle canned, miss match and generally ugly. So I could A: take the motor and axles off the 97 and put them on the 98, or B switch the cabs, beds, front (painted parts) from the 98 to the 97 frame. Also the 98 has a 2"body lift the 97 has nothing. I'd like the pros and cons of going both ways if that is possible any input is much appreciated.

As you are planning a lift kit, big diff's then I would just put all the stuff in the 98 replacing any worn out parts along the way. Why do the work twice.

Oh I should also point out that the 98 was a 2500 where the 97 is a 1500.

Do the doors and fenders match on these trucks even though they redid the interior?

body parts are the same interior is as you know different... i'm not sure but that only thing you might have trouble with trying to wireing the dash up if you swap cabs because imo the plugs for the dash are diffrent

The body parts on the club match, but is the door on a regular/single cab swappable? I'm trying to find a "intense blue pearl" set of doors and fenders. I could paint what I have but if I can find original it would be nicer.

Unless you have a lot of skill the simplest and easiest way to go is the body swap. If you do go for the mechanical parts swap there are a lot of alignment issues to be overcome.

Since the 98 is a 2500, I'd just swap the cabs. You wouldn't really gain much by just having the 2500 frame.

So he's not really gaining much besides a good body.
