Dodge dealer says my timing is off a tooth?

It can run but you are at risk of burning valves...

Of course it will. And I highly suggest putting in new o2 's , if for nothing more that to rule it out. And disconnect the negative battery cable if/when you do, so the pcm can reset. And if you want to check the timing without taking the whole thing apart again, read this.

"the sync signal is set to zero degrees. Most of the cams that we run in the shop, we set six to eight degrees positive."

I've read this many times and have no idea what this means. Are they talking about two different timings here? Fuel sync at zero, and cam at 6 to 8deg advanced?
