Question Like to block off egr opening

Would like to hear if any owners of 95 Ram 1500 with 5.9L have had any good results after blocking off Egr valve.
Installing new crate engine and would like to hear what others have been screative with.
Not too concerened with summer temperatures as our winters are long and extremly below. Roughly 3 months of mild weather.

When I swapped out the 5.9 motor (with EGR) in my '96 Ram 2500, I replaced it with a 5.9 motor out of a '98 Dakota (non-EGR). I used shorty headers and the intake from the '99 5.9 motor, since that intake did not have an EGR. I also noticed that the late model exhaust manifolds did not have EGR provisions either. If you don't want to find a late model intake, you can make EGR block-off plates and use them on your existing exhaust and intake manifolds.

When you replaced your 5.9 with the one from Dakota without egr did you have any problems with performance issues ?
Problems with electronics that were designed to run with egr ?
Fuel economy issues ?
Thanks for the help.

No issues whatsoever - with regard to fuel economy, I don't believe a 5.9 can do much worse than it already does on its own
