Default Help me diagnose my engine leak (1996, 5.9)

Folks,

Last week I purchased a 1996 Ram 1500 V8 Laramie with a 5.9 engine. With that said, I'm a total noob.

I am taking my vehicle to our mechanic soon, and I'd like to have him fix an engine oil leak. I believe I've isolated it to the harmonic balancer, but am unsure.

Please take the time to look at these photos and tell me what you think.

There is oil on the rocker arm right below the leak, and the oil seems to be pooling somewhere above or near the harmonic balancer. It's my belief the serpentine belt action could be initially splattering the oil up, and then down. It's a small leak, with only a few drips appearing on the ground every few days.

If you require more detailed photos from different angles, don't hesitate to ask... Please forgive the many photos -- as they appear in the post below...

Timing cover seal. Replace the gears and chain while you have it off.
