Default P0305 question

First of all, I did a search, and am still confused. Throwing a p0305. The truck has a new transmission. It sat for 3 years before I put a tranny in it. Has 138,xxx miles on it. Plenum and cat were done at 134,000. Have replaced front o2, rerouted wire per tsb. The wires and plugs look good. when I clear the code and let it idle, the code come back in 5-10 mins. If I clear it out, then drive it keeping the rpms up it stays off. I drove it 32 miles yesterday, and no light. I am driving on a 10 day permit so I can get it inspected and have 4 days left. if the engine light is on it will fail. All I need is insp and tag so I can be legal again. I don't have access to a compression tester and I so hope the head isn't cracked as that isn't something that is financially feasible right now. Any ideas why it misfires on low rpms? Crank sensor, cam sensor? What can I do to get it to pass inspection?

I will check the IAC and TPS, I just read something on those.

I ran Seafoam through the brake booster hose also. That woke her up a little.

The wires and plugs should be replaced seeing how long the truck has been sitting.

It would be a good thing to do a compression test on that cylinder

Route the wires per the TSB pertaining to spark knock and wire crossfire and see if that clears it up.

P0305 is a misfire on #5. As others have stated, check the plug and wiring. Bear in mind it could be the fuel injector at fault as well.

does the plug on that cylinder look fouled, wet, dirty, or anything less than normal?
o'reillys parts rent compression testers. do you have one? check other chains, Advance, Autozone.
lacking any other info - swap the plug wire on #5 with another cylinder and see if the code moves. also possibly the injector.
