Default a/c @hose and connecter leaking

I was replacing my heatercore this winter and I I disconnected the line going from the a/c canister to the firewall. I've vacuumed the system and recharged(wasted money) and found out that hose at the connecter(u-shaped cconnecter) is leaking.

Do i need to buy a new connector to fit the line or can I fix my original one?

Thank you

well, i've done some research and i think maybe its the 0-ring at the fitting. When I was repairing my heatercore I was in a little hurry, because i was loosing light outside, so i jerked on my dash and pulled the a/c line by accident from the fitting and poof all the refrigerant came out. I reconnected it but didn't check for the o-ring inside, didn't know they had them, so i'm going to replace them and will update soon

There is an o ring and a spring in that disconnect joint(s). Both can be had at most if not all parts stores. Use AC orings only(green).

thanks, i picked some up at autozone. I've got 3 (12oz) cans of r134a and plan to recharge it. I was even able to rent the vacuum pump and gauges as a "loan-a-tool"...bonus.

Do you by chance know the specs on how much r134a i would need?

thanks,

Jesse D.

IIRC I believe it's up to 2 lbs, depending on if you still have some oil in it or not. Just keep an eye on the pressure as you're charging, and all should be fine

For future reference, download the 01 service manual from the FAQ/DIY section.

It is a liquid measure, not weight.... 32 oz (after vacuum down) and one oil charge.
