I already replaced the Throttle position sensor. Could I have gotten a bad one?

i doubt it.
i think you have a different problem. P1740 is where the computer fails to register the appropriate/expected engine rpm drop on the upper shifts and TCC engagement.

Well the list of possible problems is outrageously long for this code. Guess I might be taking it to the dealership to see if they can pin point the problem.

took it to a tranny shop, they say the TC isn't locking, need a new torque converter. Does this sound right?
