Default tranny problem in my 94 dodge 1500

So my 94 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l ... threw a check engine light and so I took it to the shop.. They said I need a transmission temperature switch. I cant find any information about it. The mechanic said its a piece in the transmission i need. Does anyone know what he means?

Probably talking about the trans. temp. sensor. Some '94 and '95s have them and some don't. Think it's just the trucks with the towing package that have them. You can look at the trans. cooler line where it comes out of the trans. on the drivers side and see if there's one their or not. Pretty common for the trucks without one to throw a code even when there's never been one there.
There's two lines, one to the cooler and a return line, it's the front line. It's also a good idea to remove the check valve in the line about a foot from the cooler on the bottom line. They can plug up and cause the trans. to overheat. It's just a plastic ball that can be drilled out with a 5/16" drill.
