Talked to the mechanic this morning, he said yes, getting spark, yes, getting fuel. He is thinking crank sensor also.
Thanks for all the help, truly appreciate it!!!
I will post when we find out if that is the problem for sure, in case someone else has the same issue

So... that doesn't make too much sense. Is he testing for spark/fuel when the truck is NOT starting (because he should)? We know you have spark/fuel when it can start.

If the crank sensor isn't working, you won't have spark (or a very weak spark at most). And even if you're getting fuel, the truck won't start unless you correct fuel pressure, around 49psi. That's what we were asking for; strong spark and correct fuel pressure when the truck is not starting.

I used to have a Land Rover Discovery, and they had crank sensor issues (among others). Some were so bad that guys would carry a spare in their glovebox. The symptoms you explained sound exactly like theirs did. I'd say crank sensor too. May want to replace cam sensor too if it has one.

Just talked to the mechanic- seems he pulled a spark plug and it was getting an intermittent spark . He went ahead and replaced the crank sensor. Truck started right up, he let it sit and run for 45 minutes, then guess what.... it died again and wouldn't restart! Ugh.
So, guess we are back to square one.
He also got it hooked up to his computer, but said he is not getting any readings. His suggestion is for me to take it to the dealership, where they might be able to hook it up to their computer. Really not thrilled with that idea, but, don't know what else to do
Anyone have any other ideas???

It took quite a long time, but, eventually found the problem(s). it was a combination of the fuel pump and the computer.
Fuel pump took care of the no start at all, then had the problem of the truck shutting down once it got warm. Replaced the computer and now all is good
