98 5.2 surging
Okay its a 98 5.2l sport 5sp (nv3500 right?)
So its had this issue since I got the truck, but now it happens more and more often. When driving down the road sometimes, seeming randomly, it feels like you jam in the clutch and let it out. But the motor only has the chance to jump about 200-300 rpm. I usually leave my hand on the shifter, and it doesn't jerk or pop in and out or anything like that. Only when calling for power though. Never happened while coasting or while coasting in neutral. Doesnt matter how much my foot is down, its happened when its been pressed enough to keep 60 on a flat road, and its happened when Im flooring it. Happens in any gear at any speed, seems the truck has to be almost at temp before it happens. Does anyone have any ideas at all? oh yeah no codes either. I am lost and I really dont want to drop my trans.. btw checked the fluid, it looks like it could use a change but its full as it should be. Any ideas are appreciated and Ill answer any questions as best as I can.

you said 5 speed manual. sounds like a slipping clutch. either worn out and/or maybe leaking rear main putting oil on it. or maybe a problem with the pressure plate springs or fingers.
