Default 99 Ram 2500 5.9 Gas... Transmission?

Hey guys, jumping over from the Dakota forum here.

Got a question regarding the engine/transmissions that are found behind a 99 Ram 2500 4x4 - I may consider this truck for doing my 3.9 - 5.9 swap... believe it or not it only has 69k miles on her.

I'm just trying to find out if it has the 46RE, 46RH or some other transmission behind it. Does anyone know when they made the switch from hydraulic-controlled to electrically controlled?

I'm just trying to find out if this one will work with my 02 Dakota.

Cheers.

1999 should certainly have a 46RE. 1996 is a cutover year - the truck could have either 46RH or 46RE - for example, I have a '96 Ram 2500 4x4 with a 46RH..
