Default air control

on my 01 when I select floor or bi level and floor the air only blows out the defrost vents but works fine on the other settings what could be the problem?

I have checked for a vac leak and connot find one everything on truck works except when air to the floor when I select that it blows out defroster when I select bi level and floor together it only blows out bi level cruise and 4wd workiks great any ideals what should I look to next? thanks

its a broken vac line to the air control. either in the engine bay or behind the dash. follow your vac lines from the passenger side of the intake manifold, through the T's, through the check valve disks, and into the fire wall and hope and pray that the problem is visible in the engine bay and not behind the dash and sort of down on the passenger side.

will do! thanks not for sure how long its been since it quit working but I recently instlaa a rubber mat after removing carpet and try and use the floor heat to help the mat lay down u think I could have knocked something off?

i doubt it. the lines are way up, pretty much impossible to get to.

breaks in the engine bay are very common.

I found it! under the dash I went to advance and rent a hand held vac and found it truck preety loud when running didn't take long to find it with engine off! thanks for the help guys!

good idea on the rental. did you fish a new vac hose in behind the dash? or just put a sleeve over the break?

post some pics from photobucket or similar. we love pics.

it was the hose going to the floor control had a split in it coming out of the block under the dash could only hear it witn engine off on way to junk yard to pick one up
