this has happend twice in two weeks. I go to start my truck and it seems the battery and or the starter are sluggish. about a couple atempts it starts and the idle will lope and the truck dies, i start it agian and i have to use the gas pedal to keep it running when i let off it dies, i wait about ten min and it starts perfect but the starter still seems to be off. but the truck idles fine. I dont know where to start cause it seems to be three things or a ghost.

the electrical system has to have a strong 12+ volts in the battery in order for the computer to operate the idle controls properly.

you might have 2 different problems. either a dragging starter that's pulling the battery down, or maybe a weak battery that can't support the demand for starter and the idle control until after it runs a little while and charges up.

how old is the battery? have it load tested at your local parts store or walmart

 

I had it tested and said my alternator was bad,changed it out and ran fine last night and this morning. I went to get my morning coffee, came back out to start it and very sluggish again and same thing would'nt stay running I am going to have the battery tested again, the battery is a year old but its an interstate and i live in az.thanks for your reply
