Temporary Exhaust setup.
Ok so for a long time now i have wanted to run true duals on my truck and i know most of you will say make it quiet but that wont work with me. I want it loud. So at the place i work at there is this guy that knows quite a bit about vehicles and i was talking about it and he said go across the road (to the place that put on my recent exhaust system) and ask for a temporary exhaust. He said they will run true duals with no cats and what ever mufflers i want(i prefer 1 or 2 foot glasspacks) and he said it will only cost about $300. Well the exhaust system i have now is a high flow dual inlet single outlet cat to a cherry bomb extreme s.i. d.o. to 3 1/2 inch tips. Would it make it much cheaper if i had them run the stock 2 inch pipes off the manifolds to 2 1/2 inch pipes and no cats to glasspacks and then into the leftover 2 pipes and tips?? And how would it effect performance?
performance wise, it might be a little better honestly just because its true dual flow, where in your current setup your collecting at certain points. i mean you wont feel a huge gain or loss with exhaust. i would say do it. if you want loud, i would do like you said, straight duals no cats, and into either glasspacks or get another cherry bomb extreme and run 2 of them out to ur tips. that would sound like a beast.
Thanks alot man. I am glad someone agreed with me. Lol Good info. I am going to go price it tomorrow if they are open. And before I didn't have a muffler, I had a Y pipe and don't get me wrong it was pretty loud but NOWHERE near as loud as true duals would be. And I was worried about o2 sensors and that it word run horribly with no cats but the guy said it wouldn't affect it one bit.
Why not just pull the muffler off and run fake duals off the cat? That'll make it loud without spending $300. My setup without the muffler (2.5" ypipe, 3" gutted high flow cat) is stupid loud.. gets annoying just in town, nevermind highway.
